Mission Statement
The Scholastic ETV Consortium endeavors to empower
the national public television community by offering products and services
that will help stations be more self supportive and better able to serve
their audiences. |
Our Most Important
Partner Is You [top]
Through Consortium membership you not only receive quality edutainment programming
and products at discounted prices but you also open up the door to multiple revenue
opportunities for your station. By offering the ancillary educational materials*
in our packages to your state’s department of education and other agencies
and by becoming a sub-distributor of our popular video and book packages you
not only become a valuable Consortium partner but also increase the level of
service you can offer to your viewers.
* Ancillary Educational Materials include:
• K-12 core-curriculum programming
• Scholastic Video Streaming Service
• No Child Left Behind Video / Book packages
• Clifford, Magic School Bus and other videos
What We Offer [top]
First and foremost, we offer membership status to any public television station
that purchases any of our broadcast packages. With this membership, stations
then receive substantial savings on a variety of products and services including
edutainment programming, K-12 core-curriculum programming, books, audio, hard-copy
video and the Scholastic video-streaming service. We also offer revenue generating
opportunities through additional rights that allow stations to sub-distribute
our products.
Our web site includes many support options for our products including easy-to-access
program information, streamable program previews and downloadable teacher guides.
We also customize pages for Consortium members in a co-branded format tailored
to the package they have selected.
Edutainment Programming [top]
Our edutainment broadcast programming catalog includes both general audience
titles as well as K-12 core curriculum material for the classroom. At the
heart of our general audience line-up is the Scholastic Classics children's programs perfect
for "ready-to-learn" time slots. Our K-12 line-up covers a wide
range of subject areas including math, science, language arts, history / social
studies, guidance, health, geography / cultural studies and more.
Multimedia / No Child Left Behind [top]
In addition to our broadcast programming, we also offer packages that include
books, video and audio that are used together to enhance the reading and
learning process both at home and in the classroom. Using captioned video
with correlating books has been proven to raise reading scores and satisfy
criteria for No Child Left Behind standards.
Clifford / Magic School Bus and More [top]
Another product line in our collection is hard-copy videos. This currently
includes Clifford the Big Red Dog, The Magic School Bus, I Spy, Dear America
and the Royal Diary series. We are currently adding a diverse range of non-animated
educational titles and subjects to this line. These popular shows may be
sub-distributed by stations for both home and classroom use.
